In this Christmas-themed episode of Mormon Channel Studio, Yahosh Bonner sings “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” and “Silent Night” and is accompanied by Rashida Jordan Call on piano.

Both Yahosh and Rashida feel a special connection to those who first sang the words to “Sweet Little Jesus Boy.”

“It’s an African American Spiritual. It’s something that our ancestors sang. They drew their strength from Christ. Through all their trials and tribulations, one thing they knew they could depend on and wish for was for a Savior to be aware of them, to save them, to strengthen them,” Yahosh says.

No matter the time of year, we can each turn to our Savior, Jesus Christ. His love is the source of the joy we experience during the holidays and always.

Mormon Channel Studio is a weekly video series featuring hymn arrangements and original music by LDS musicians from across the nation.
